Cathay Pacific brings yoga dream to life

Airline sponsors yoga event and flies in the centrepiece

Cathay Pacific Cargo helped make it an International Yoga Day to remember in Jerusalem this summer.

The airline flew 700 yoga mats on its services from Shanghai, where the mats were made, to Tel Aviv via Hong Kong. Each of the individual yoga mats formed part of an overall design called ‘The Big Dream – Jerusalem 2048’ by local artist Amit Trainin.

The artist’s work reflected hundreds of people’s responses to the question ‘what do you imagine you will see when you look out of your window in 30 years?’ and created a vision of the city in the future.

The day-long event involved music, dance – and yoga – and was held in Valley of Ben-Hinnom park, flanked by the old walls of the city. According to organisers, Dreame, participants were able ‘to take a piece of the collective dream for Jerusalem, one of the most spiritual cities in the world, home with them.’

As well as flying in the mats, Cathay Pacific was also a top-line sponsor of the event.
