Cathay Pacific Cargo flexes interline links to deliver vaccines

Teamwork with ANA Cargo enables COVID-19 vaccine shipments from Japan via Hong Kong to Bangladesh

Cathay Pacific Cargo is continuing to support worldwide vaccine distribution to help combat COVID-19. Recent shipments have included three consignments of vaccines in conjunction with airline partner ANA Cargo, demonstrating the power of Cathay Pacific Cargo’s extended interline network.

To date, the airline partners have uplifted around 750,000 vaccine doses from Japan to Dhaka via Hong Kong, as part of the global COVAX vaccine initiative.

‘We’re delighted to work with industry partners to extend our reach and transport vital vaccines to those in need,’ said Tim Wong, Head of Cargo Revenue Management. ‘These shipments demonstrate the dedication, professionalism and strength that our airline communities bring together, and we look forward to further collaborations that will help us to continue the fight against COVID-19.’

These were the first deliveries in a total of three million doses that Japan will be donating to Bangladesh.
