Malaysia keeps agents in the know

Agent showcase events provide latest on Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific Cargo’s Malaysia sales teams held two successful cargo product forums late last year in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, drawing agents from around the country.

Cathay Pacific cargo manager Manizam Maulana said: ‘The events highlighted Cathay Pacific Cargo’s facilities and products, flight schedules, upcoming destinations and same-day connections that could benefit agents’ business.’

Around 35 agents attended the seminar at the Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, where the main shipments are electronics, fresh flowers and mushrooms, mainly destined for China and Japan.

Penang’s forum, at the Olive Tree Hotel, welcomed 15 agents. The island state’s shipments mirror Kuala Lumpur’s, but it also exports both live and frozen fish.

Mirani Osman, airfreight manager KLIA for Panalpina Transport said: ‘I was interested to find out all about Cathay Pacific’s products and updates. It was especially useful to learn about same-day connections and get a better overview of the whole network.”
